Cleckeaton ward Liberal Democrats are campaigning to keep our lovely Town Hall open. The Council has said it will close the Town Hall from the end of August this year. This is because there is a problem with the ceiling in the main hall. This was first discovered in JULY 2022. Since then, the Council has absolutely failed to start the repairs. There is no repairs plan.

Meanwhile, in Huddersfield town centre, £250,000  has been spent on artistic planters!!!

Cleckheaton ward councillors started a petition in July to try and force some action from the Council. So far over 2,000 people have signed.

We were gathering more signatures in the town centre this morning (Saturday 26 August). Many people eagerly signing. We had queues of people wanting to add their name.

You can add your name to this growing petition either by signing a paper petitions in many of the shops in town or online www.kirkleeslibdems.org.uk/spen-valley-liberal-democrats/default-title
