We have been working with the Practice, Architects and Planning. We want to ensure that the proposal gets planning permission so please sign the petition and compete the survey to support the plans.
Lindley Group Practice has been based in its current building next to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary since the 1960s. Over the years, the practice has taken on more staff and needs more space and parking to offer a wider range of services to its 11,000 patients. Some consulting rooms are very small and not fit for purpose, doorways are narrow making wheel chair access difficult and four consulting rooms are upstairs and there is no lift. The reception area is cramped and offers little privacy for patients or the practice team.
The idea of a new building has long been in the pipeline, and many patients gave feedback on what they’d like to see in new premises through an engagement via a survey in 2018. Most people were very supportive of the need for better facilities and keen to see better accommodation for the practice team.
The proposed new building would sit right next to the current surgery. The state-of-the-art, energy efficient medical centre will have dedicated patient, clinical and administrative space. There will also be capacity to provide more training for staff as well as improving the general patient experience, with better parking for all who use the building.
