The former Eastlawns site at Thomas Street was sold off by the council years ago and has been a derelict eyesore ever since. Lindley has an acute shortage of car parking spaces and this site would be ideal to -
- support Lindley's businesses and maintain a thriving local economy
- provide an alternative location for parents of Lindley Junior School pupils to park, diverting traffic and the associated pollution and danger away from George Street
The Lindley Liberal Democrat Councillors, Cllr Richard Eastwood, Cllr Cahal Burke and Cllr Anthony Smith are campaigning to return the land to council ownership so it can be turned into a car park.
